Saturday September 28th

Overview
We're excited to bring back a climbing and bouldering competition that had everyone turning in their cards at the end of the day dog tired with huge smiles on their faces - with some new and improved updates! We're also bringing back the Index Lore Scavenger Hunt!

To participate in the climbing comp, bouldering comp or scavenger hunt, all participants must:

All Competitors must pick up their score card in person by no later than 9:00am on Saturday morning (at the registration table at the Lower Town Wall Parking Lot). Score cards must be turned in to the table at the River House by no later than 5:30pm on Saturday evening.

Winners will be announced at the River House before the band goes on stage (around 6:30pm).

A Note on Clinic Locations
Climbing clinics will be located throughout Index on Saturday. While a group may be on a route, it is possible that you may be able to coordinate pitches. Be nice, be respectful. There is a lot to climb out there! Clinics head out between 8:30-9, so you may be able to sneak in a pitch before they start.

2024 Rules
ROUTES
Choose your division and category in the spirit of fair competition and sportsmanship. These are the two guiding principles of this event. For instance, if you can regularly redpoint 5.11 (and I’m not saying always!) then enter the 5.11 category at a minimum. Entering a lower category takes opportunity away from those whose limit is in those grades.

Each climber will climb core routes in their division and they must declare a project on their scorecard prior to the start of the event. The project may be five letter grades harder than your division’s maximum core value.

Core routes have a base value of 1-4, and projects a base value of 5-9 points. Projects are weighted heavily, so even two hanging a project could be worth more than twice as much as your division maximum. Visiting multiple areas is incentivized with a 10 point bonus per area. Doing one climb in any style in an area gives you those points.

-
No repeats!
-
Stick clips are OK.
-
Pre-hung draws are OK.
-
All trad gear must be placed on lead and cleaned before subsequent attempts. The walls are divided into four areas, and a maximum of three routes will be counted per area. Only one route from the LTW will be counted. Choose wisely!
-
You are not required to climb routes in all four areas, but you'll get more points if you do.
-
You are not required to climb 3 routes per area.
-
-
All moves must have been done on a route in two hangs or less for it to be a valid entry.

Please note that some routes will be occupied by climbing clinics. *See note above.*
